ALFRED OSTBY
Alfred Ostby, a retired farmer, died in a Gladstone care center Friday. He was 96. Mr. Ostby, who lived in Gladstone, was born in Willow City, N.D., and had lived in the Portland area for more than 50 years.
Survivors include his son, Kenneth of Portland; daughter Irene Gates of Lake Oswego, and Doris Ness of Tigard; brother, Jalmer of North Dakota; sisters Clara Stenson of North Dakota, and Olga Thompson of Minnesota; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Private funeral will be held at 1 pm Tuesday, with interment in Crescent Grove Cemetery in Tigard.
