Professional Hockey Player. For thirteen seasons (1972 to 1984), he played at the center position in the National Hockey League with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Pittsburgh Penguins and Minnesota North Stars. Selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs as the 11th overall pick during the 1972 NHL Amateur Draft, he totaled 797 career regular season games, accumulating 160 goals and 238 assists. While with Pittsburgh, Ferguson produced four consecutive seasons in which he tallied more than 20 goals. After retiring as a player, he served as a minor league coach.
