Convict No. 5748, a table blade grinder and illiterate Protestant, convicted in York on the 10 July 1858 of stabbing with intent to do grievous bodily harm, sentenced to 15 years transportation. Sent to Western Australia in the 23rd shipment of convicts on the ship Palmerston. Given his Ticket of Leave on the 30 Aug 1863 and Conditional Pardon on the 4 November 1869.

His brother is  Edward Hall (1839 - 1903), convict no. 9176.
