Obituary: Alice Ann Byrd, 83, of Weston, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2019, in the comfort of her own home and surrounded by loving family. She was born in Weston on October 25, 1936, a daughter of the late Ruhl and Jean Oliver Butcher. Alice married her sweetheart, Crawford Byrd, on October 2, 1954. After Crawford’s passing on May 10, 2019, they were apart only a brief time and have now been reunited to extend their 64 years to eternity. Alice graduated from Weston High School, class of 1954. After marrying her best friend, they travelled to Okinawa, Japan, Germany and France with Crawford’s different United States Air Force assignments. She was a member of the Gee Lick United Methodist Church and enjoyed traveling with her sister. Alice’s pride and joy was caring for her family as a homemaker and spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren. Forever cherishing their memories of Alice are two children: Jeffrey Lynn Byrd and wife, Lisa, of Columbus, OH, and Kristi Crook and husband, Larry, of Weston; two grandchildren: Kaelye and Ashley Crook; and one sister, Donna Cayton and husband, Thorne, of Weston. In addition to her parents and husband, Alice was preceded in death by two brothers, Alvy and Charles Butcher. Alice’s request for cremation has been honored. Private services will be held at a later date.
