Jeremiah Burge died at his home in Wheeler on March 20, 1902. Mr. Burge was born in Chautauqua Co., N. Y., March 11, 1911, being 91 years 9 days of age at his death. He came to Porter county in 1836 where he has lived ever since. He is survived by a wife, three sons, 16 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren, besides a number of other relatives and friends. The funeral services were held at the M. E. church, Wheeler, March 22, at 1 o'clock p. m., conducted by Rev. R. Smith, of the Congregation church of Hobart, assisted by Rev. Harvey, pastor of the M. E. church at Wheeler. The interment took place at the Blatchley Corner cemetery.
