Dr. Robert V. Edwards, 72, of Edgewood, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at home with his loving wife and daughter by his side. He was born Bobbyjean Vernon Edwards, in Santa Rosa, California to parents Vernon Elmo Edwards and Vera Jean Thomas.

As a youth Bob loved sports and excelled in boxing with the “Mighty Mights” of Reno, Nevada. Bob was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he served the Lord in many capacities. He was also a member of the NRA and an avid supporter of the Second Amendment. A Vietnam War Veteran, he served under the Army 1st Air Calvary as a helicopter door gunner. Upon his return from Vietnam he worked as a truck driver and carpenter.

Bob attended The University of Nevada, Reno for his undergraduate studies. He then moved to Davenport, Iowa to attend Palmer Chiropractic College where he graduated with honors and earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic in 1982. Bob practiced in Michigan for eleven years before moving to Albuquerque, New Mexico where he established Edwards Chiropractic Center in 1993. He loved his healing profession and served his community for the next twenty-five years.

Throughout his life, Bob was an avid marksman and loved to hunt, fish, ski, and play the guitar. He was known for his skills in carpentry and woodworking and used these skills in later years to build a beautiful home in the East Mountains. He loved to explore the backwoods with Sandi and their friends in his side by side ATV.

Bob was a thoughtful, loving husband, Dad, Grandpa, and a person of integrity, grit and hard work. He was a person on whom you could rely. Bob was practical, a problem solver, and a mentor to many. He was a true friend with a great sense of humor. He will be missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Sandi; son Joseph V Edwards (Erin) of Edgewood, New Mexico; daughter, Bobbijean Edwards of Vancouver, Washington; stepson, Brandon Woods of Los Angeles, California; grandchildren, Savanna Munroe, Parker, Caleb, Kailei, Payton, Presley and Calvin Edwards; sisters, Linda Ronk (Dock) of Sunbury, Ohio; Cynthia Lasher (Tom) of Arlington, Texas; nephews, Thomas Orthbandt (Julia) of Belmont, California; Che Valdivia of Columbus, Ohio; niece, Natalie Miller (Terry) of Gahanna, Ohio; and many grand nieces and nephews.

Bob is predeceased by his loving wife of 30 years, Teresa Jean Rossi and niece, Rae Ann Sutherin.

During his eight-year battle with prostate cancer Bob’s faith never wavered as his prayers each night were filled with gratitude for all of his earthly blessings. He loved his family and friends as he loved the Lord.
