Shirley Marie Williamson, age 75, of Brandon, SD formerly Valley Springs, SD, died on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at her home in Brandon, SD.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 9, 2019 at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory in Sioux Falls, SD. Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM on Sunday at the funeral home in Sioux Falls with the family present to greet friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Shirley Marie Toussaint was born on April 14, 1944 in Sioux Falls, SD to Ray and Martha (Anderson) Toussaint. She was raised and received her education in Sioux Falls. Shirley was united in marriage with Lloyd “Sonny” Williamson on April 16, 1961 in Sioux Falls, SD. The couple lived in the communities of Sioux Falls, SD, Rockford, IL, Rowena, SD and then Valley Springs, SD before moving to Chamberlain, SD in 2009. Sonny and Shirley were blessed with two sons, Rick and Randy, and a daughter, Tammy. Sonny passed away on September 28, 2016. Shirley then made her home in Brandon, SD.

Shirley worked for many years at Balance Systems in Sioux Falls, SD before spending over 20-years working as a surgical aide at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls. She was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary and took great pride in her family’s military service.

Shirley enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and traveling, but above all loved and cherished spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing card games, dominoes, attending her book club and her friends whom she considered her family as well. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend who will be dearly missed.

Grateful for having shared her life are her son, Rick (Cindy) Williamson, Canton, SD; son, Randy Williamson, Sioux Falls, SD; daughter, Tammy (Dallas) Thompson, Valley Springs, SD; 9 grandchildren: David (Jessica) Murphy, Tim Hall, Nathan Williamson, Travis (HaiVy) Thompson, Tyler (Leanne) Williamson, Cordaro (Jenna) Williamson, Weston Thompson, Colin (Kaitlin Roberts) Thompson and Tiffany Williamson; 16 great-grandchildren: Finn, Gus, Mea, J.D., Connor, Mac, Makayla, Lizzy, Jaxson, Logan, Kinsley, Bailey, Taylor, Hunter, Grady and Gage; siblings: Doug (Jayne) Toussaint of Oklahoma City, OK, and DeWayne (Helen) Toussaint of Albuquerque, NM; Mary (Leroy) Medema-Shipps of Stanton, NE and Florence Geiken of Rotunda-West, FL; sister-in-law, Peggy Williamson of Schertz, TX; two brothers-in-laws, Chancy (Judy) Williamson of Dunlap, IL, and Larry (Darlene) Williamson of Rockford, IL countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; Ray and Martha (Anderson) Toussaint; husband, Lloyd Williamson; brothers, Mike and Wayne Toussaint and one sister, Sharon Toussaint.
