Miss Jane Donaldson was born near Toronto in Upper Canada, November 26, 1834, and died at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Flossie Kroll, in St. James, Minnesota. June 5th, 1916, age 81 years, 6 months and 10 days. In childhood she moved to 0lge county, Illinois, with her parents. She was married to Alexander Hawver in Polo, Illinois. March. 1856. To this union were born two children. Dr. Birdsell Hawver and Wm. Grant, the latter dying in infancy and the Doctor on July 4th, 1903.
She moved to Viola township, Audubon county, Iowa, in 1879and from there to Dedham in 1885 where she resided until the past year which was spent with the grandchildren in Minn.
She took membership with the United Brethren church in girlhood and remained an active member of the same until Rev. Harvey’s meeting in Dedham at which time she united with the Methodist church of which she remained a member until her death.
She leaves to mourn her death one sister, Mrs. Flora Bruce of Coon Rapids. a daughter in law, Mrs. Anna Hawver of St James, Minnesota, two grandchildren, Mrs. Maud Hicks of Hardin Montana, and Mrs. Flossie Kroll of St James, Minnesota. The funeral was held Wednesday at Dedham, Rev. Lyles of Manning conducted the funeral service. Burial took place in the Dedham cemetery.
