George worked with the Pulaski County Special School District at Joe T. Robinson for twenty-eight years as a bus driver and worked in maintenance at Baker School. He was a skilled plumber and “Jack-of-all trades” and was active in the Ferndale community.
George is survived by his wife of sixty-eight years, Martha; daughter, Jeanne Williamson (Cody); son, Gerald “Jerry” McHughes; five grandchildren, Billy, Dawn, Patrick, Bryan, and Tony; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Verla and brother Everett.
