Born May 18, 1933, in Hamlin, "Dottie" was a daughter of the late John and Ellie (Messick) Essary. She attended school in Hamlin and graduated from Abilene High School. Dorothy married Scia Buck Russell November 27, 1982, in Muskogee, Oklahoma. They moved from Eufaula, Okla., in 2004 to Hamlin. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Hamlin and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Scia "Buck" Russell of Hamlin; seven sons, Billy Moore, Johnny Russell, Tony Russell, Bart Russell, Travis Moore, all of Dallas, Rodney Lovegrove of Tulsa, OK, and Ron Lovegrove of Hamlin; four daughters, Debbie Bayer of Junction, Sherry Moore of Nacogdoches, Darla Moore of Dallas, and Jane Russell of Will Point; three brothers, Charles Essary of Abilene, John Essary of Lubbock, and Phillip Essary of Wichita Falls; three sisters, Frances McMillian of Las Vegas, NV, Marjorie Roberts of Kingsland, and Wynona Reid; nine grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Visitation will be 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2007, at Adams Funeral Home.
