Died aged 80y of peritonitis and paralysis. Interred 5/1/1889. Family residence at time of death was on Cataract Street.

Her first husband, George Marburger, was a successful brewer. After his early death, she married Charles Rau, a former employee of he first husband, who founded the Genesee Brewing Company in partnership with Emil Reisky - whom Elizabeth's daughter married.
