In addition to her parents and husband, Jeanne is preceded in death by her two daughters: Martha Rumig and Michele Fitch.

Jeanne’s survivors include her two children: Mark Miller of Marysville, Marilyn McIlhenny and her husband, Albert, of Coatesville; her three grandchildren: Jessica Hansing and her husband, John, of Ohio, Matthew Crockett and his wife, Beth, and their two daughters: Evelyn Jane and Madelyn Jeanne, of Newtown Square, Grace McIlhenny of Coatesville; her brother, Jay Snyder and his wife, Elsie Dyke, Ann Arbor, MI; her sister-in-law, Jeannette Rinker of Slatington; her two nieces; and her two nephews.

Jeanne graduated from Polk Township Consolidated School in Kresgeville as part of the class of 1947 and from State Teachers College in Kutztown in 1951 with a bachelor’s of science degree. She retired from East Pennsboro School District, after 30 years of service working as a 2nd grade teacher. Jeanne also taught in Raritan Township, NJ, Lehighton, and Littlestown.

She was a longtime member of Market Square Presbyterian Church in Harrisburg, where she sang in the choir, served as a deacon, and volunteered in the nursery. Jeanne was a member of the Public School Employees’ Retirement System (PSERS) and the National Education Association (NEA). She was also a member of the Marysville Lioness Club, the Red Hat Society, and Take Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS, Inc.). Jeanne helped out as a volunteer at the Marysville-Rye Public Library.

She loved to read and it did not matter what type, she read all different kinds of books. Jeanne enjoyed music and could play both the piano and trumpet.
