Martha J. "Marty" Miller Crockett, 54, of Upper Darby, a registered nurse, died Jan. 28, 2011 at Delaware County Memorial Hospital. Born in Gettysburg and raised in Enola, she was a resident of Upper Darby for more than 25 years. Ms. Crockett was a graduate of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Nursing School. She was a registered nurse at HUP and later at Delaware County Memorial Hospital. She also did private clinic duty and worked until illness forced her into early retirement two years ago. Ms. Crockett attended Christ Community Lutheran Church in Upper Darby. She was an avid traveler and was an accomplished musician, playing the piano, organ and clarinet. Ms. Crockett was a member of the SPCA. She was a loving wife and mother and was known by friends and colleagues as the consummate nurse. Survivors: Husband of 10 years, William A. Rumig; daughter, Jessica Hughes of Elyria, Ohio; son, Matthew Crockett of Newtown Square; stepdaughter, Angela Sherman of Lansdowne; mother, Jeanne Miller of Marysville; sisters, Michele Fitch of Kutztown, Marilyn McIlhenny of Coatesville; brother, Mark Miller of Marysville; one stepgrandchild; one stepgreat-grandchild.

Service: 1 p.m. Tuesday, Christ Lutheran Church, 7240 Walnut St., Upper Darby. Visitation: After 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial: Private. Contributions: Delaware County SPCA, 555 Sandy Bank Road, Media, PA 19063. Arrangements: Toppitzer Funeral Home at Arlington, Drexel Hill.
