(1948-2019)

Mrs. Carolyn Gayle Baier Sparks, age 71, of Huffs Run, Grayson, Kentucky, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Thursday evening, November 28, 2019, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Gayle was born September 3, 1948, in Carter County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late James Howard and Susan Jane “Susie” Seagraves Baier.

Gayle was a member of the Rockwall United Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to church, cooking for her church and family, and watching U.K. Basketball.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Baier, Ronnie Baier, and James Harrison “Bud” Baier, and one sister, Saundra Kay Baier.

Gayle is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Ed Sparks; one son, Brad Sparks (Jessica) of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one daughter, Pamela Sparks Miller of Huntington, West Virginia; four grandchildren, Presley Nicole “Nikki” Miller, Alexander Trace Sparks, Caleb Andrew Sparks and Katelyn Abigail Sparks; two brothers, Louie Baier of Grayson, Kentucky, and Pierce Baier of Morehead, Kentucky; and three sisters, Krista Young of Grayson, Kentucky, Patricia “Patty” Smith of Greenup, Kentucky, and Evelyn Grills (Mick) of Olive Hill, Kentucky. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 2, 2019, at Grayson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Grayson, Kentucky, with Brother Rob Baier, Brother Bo Mayo, Brother Terry Marshall and Brother Sammy Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the Edison Cemetery in Grayson, Kentucky. Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, December 1, 2019, and after 9 a.m. on Monday at Grayson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 49 McCoy Road, Grayson, Kentucky 41143.

Rockwall United Baptist Brothers will serve as pallbearers.
