Alfred Lewis Brawner, 70, southeast Kansas City, died Aug. 18, 1992, at Menorah Medical Center. Private military graveside services will be at Mount Moriah Cemetery.
Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the Mount Moriah & Freeman Chapel. The family suggests contributions to the American Lung Association or the American Heart Association. Mr. Brawner was born in Enterprise, Kan., and lived in this area 27 years. He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Raytown before he retired. He served in the military for 23 years and retired from the Air Force as a master sergeant in 1968. He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II and was held a prisoner of war in Germany and received two Purple Hearts. He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. Survivors include his wife, Theresa Brawner of the home; a son, Roland A. Brawner, Tyler, Texas; two daughters, Connie J. Boyles, Raytown, and Teri B. Nelson, Lee's Summit; two brothers, Donald Brawner, Kansas City, and Dale Brawner, Abilene, Kan.; a sister, Alice Barclay, Abilene; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
