Theodore "Ted" Thomas Moore, 82, of Mooresville, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2017, at his residence. Born August 12, 1935, in Mooresville, he was a son of the late Steven Ellie and Blanche Small Moore. Mr. Moore was retired from the US Navy having served in Vietnam. After his retirement from service, he retired from the State of Florida Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department after 10 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion.
Mr. Moore is survived by his wife of 20 years Sallie Ann Houdeshell Moore; daughter, Jean Marie Goldburg, of Philadelphia, PA; son, Theodore Thomas Moore, Jr. and step-daughter, Andrea Anton, of Woodburn, OR; sisters, Mary Moose (Bill), of Mooresville and Nettie Jordan, of Statesville and his constant companion, his Doberman, Shiloh.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM, Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lake Norman Humane Society, 110 Robinson Rd., Suite A, Mooresville, NC 28117 or the American Cancer Society, 1901 Brunswick Avenue, Suite 100, Charlotte, NC 28207-1897.
