Max Knight
Max Edward Knight, age 65, of Purdy, MO, was called to his Heavenly home on Saturday, November 23, 2019, while at the Aurora Nursing Center in Aurora, MO.
Max was born on December 3, 1953, in Gainesville, MO, son of the late Moses Edward Knight and Hildred Irene (Wallace) Knight. He graduated from Cassville High School with the Class of 1971. He was a member of Arnhart Baptist Church in Purdy.
On August 23, 1974, at Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church, Max Knight and Janie Morlan were united in marriage. To this union, two children were born.
Max is survived by his wife, Janie; of the home; his son, Jackson Knight and wife Holly, of Purdy; his daughter, Eva Lamp and husband Nathan, of Verona. He was the best Pa Max to six grandchildren, Ruby and Leah Knight and Laney, Lauren, Ruth Ann and Adam Lamp.
He was a generous provider, earning his living by operating M.E. Knight Trucking. "Buzzard" made friends quickly with anyone who was willing to listen or laugh in the right spots. Everyone was accepted into his crew and supplied with a proper handle.
Max trusted his soul to Jesus and encouraged everyone he knew to do the same. He was filled with the Holy Spirit and with fun. We all wish we could have had more time with Max, but we trust that his purpose in this life was fulfilled.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at Arnhart Baptist Church, Purdy, with Reverend Jason Mackey officiating.
Interment will follow in Arnhart Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to Arnhart Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
