He was born Nov. 17, 1882, at Tremont, a son of William and Mary E. Hinman Gillan.
Surviving are four brothers, Lawrence, Buffalo, N.Y.; Elbert, Hugh, Donald, Tremont; and three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Roberts, Buffalo, N.Y.; Mrs. Nel Peacock, Peoria; and Miss Laura Gillan, Tremont.
He was employed by the Corn Products Company for 29 years, retiring in 1947. He was a member of the Pekin Lodge of Masons.
Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens.
