He was 74 years old.
Gregg was born in Creighton on Jan 8 1909, the son of Jane Northcut and Jessie Marion Gregg. He married Ethel Barnard on Dec 23 1915 in Clinton.
He farmed near Urich from 1915 to 1951 but more recently was employed as a custodian for the Tri-City Jewish Center in Rock Island. He had lived there since 1959. Gregg had also been employed by the brick yard in Harrisonville when he lived here from 1957 to 1959.
Surviving are his wife of the home; four sons, Donald Gregg, Rock Islnd Ill; Homer Gregg, Huntsville, Ala; Clifton Gregg, Viola Ill; Dale Gregg, Harrisonville; three daughters, Mrs. James Wilder, Princeton IL, Mrs Aubrey Westmoreland, Rock Island, Il; and Mrs Albert Rosson, Rock Islnd Il; 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Cindy Bixler, Culver City Calif, Mrs Myrtle Tabor, Belton, Mrs Minnie Brown, Clinton and Mrs Effie Gregg, Ottawa KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, two grandchildren, seven brothers and one sister.
Services were held at the First United Presbyterian Church of Rock Islnd Ill Thursday morning, April 4 with Rev Kenneth D. McArthur officiating. Burial was at the Rock Island Memorial Park cemetery, Rock Island IL.
