Lou Ann P. Walker, 64, wife of Robert Murdoch Walker Jr., passed away Monday, Nov. 7, 2011, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.

Born Dec. 1, 1946, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Charles M. Player and Charlotte Hart Player Huntington. Mrs. Walker graduated from Edmunds High School in 1965 and continued her education at the University of South Carolina. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter.

Surviving are her husband of Sumter; one son, R. Murdoch Walker III and wife, Keli; one daughter, Dana Walker Terry and husband, Max; three grandchildren, Mary Margaret Terry, Doc Walker and Walker Terry; a brother, Monty Player and wife, Carey, all of Sumter; and a sister, Susan Stoudenmire and husband, Joel, of Greer.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter with the Rev. Dr. John M. Barr and the Rev. Marcus Kaiser officiating.

The family will receive friends at a reception following the services in the church Parish Hall and other times at the home, 460 Mallard Drive.

Lou Ann wished to thank all of her friends that have been so helpful to her during her battle with cancer and her husband's battle with ALS. May God bless them all.
