Born March 26, 1920, in Darlington, she was a daughter of the late Edgar Charles Hart and the late Lottie Woods Hart. She grew up in Darlington and graduated from St. John's High School and Clevenger Business College. Before her illness, Mrs. Huntington was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, the Sumter Genealogical Society, the Colonial Dames, the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Shepherd's Center. She was retired from the Department of Social Services and was a recipient of the Outstanding State Employee of the Year award in 1982.
She was twice married, first to the late Charles Montgomery Player and later to George Arthur Huntington of Chicago, Ill.
