Clyde Bloodworth

Mr. Clyde Bloodworth of Chancellor passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2019. He was 87. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. John Baxter officiating. Burial will follow at Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday, beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Mr. Bloodworth was born in Ivy, Georgia on November 2, 1932, to the late George Leo Bloodworth and Jane Corene Kight Bloodworth. He graduated from Mercer University, Class of 1954. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Bloodworth was the Director of Budget for the US Air Force Reserves. He was a member of Providence United Methodist Church. He was an accomplished musician, having played the steel guitar. He played with Hank Williams, Jr. and Kenny Rogers, among other well-known musicians. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Bloodworth.
He is survived by two sons, Keith Bloodworth (Lisa) of Hartford, and Stephen Bloodworth (Julie) of Warner Robins, GA; three daughters, Lynn Bloodworth of Newnan, GA, Carmen Dilbeck of Durant, OK, and Rebecca Courson (Jim) of Sandy Springs, GA; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Wayne Bloodworth (Jean) of Indian Rocks Beach, FL.
