Connie Yvonne Jackson passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at Redwood of Blue River Nursing Home in Kansas City, Missouri.

Connie was born on August 2, 1948 in Macon, Missouri to Roy E. and Aleetha Jackson who preceded her in death. She graduated from Dumas Elementary and from Macon High School and enrolled at Northeast Missouri State Teachers College (now Truman University) in Kirksville, Missouri, where her focus was Business.

Connie joined Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church as a youngster and was a faithful member serving as Sunday School Teacher and as a member of the choir as well as wherever she could be of assistance. She was a lifelong member and faithfully supported the Church financially.

She moved to Kansas to Kansas City, Missouri and was soon employed by Commerce Bank. She later retired from Commerce Bank after a long and fruitful career. Connie was an avid reader and had many interests including cooking, embroidery, traveling to historic sights, college football and especially her family and friends. She never forgot a birthday and enjoyed the annual birthday outings with the ‘girls’. Her family was all important. She cared for her parents who came to live with her in their later years. She spoiled the grandchildren and the great grands shopping for their favorite treats and planning special visits. Family was paramount for Connie.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents Roy E. and Aleetha (Hicks) Jackson and a sister Linda Kay Jackson.

She leaves to mourn her passing her brother David Jackson of Kansas City, Missouri and a sister Marie Jackson Walker (Jerome B.) of Willingboro, New Jersey and two nephews: Jerome K. Walker (Michelle E,) in New Jersey and Christopher Walker in Clarence, Missouri and a niece Michelle K. Walker in New Jersey and five great grands: Jerome R., Jerrell, Alexander, Jameson, and Zoe of both Missouri and New Jersey. She also leaves many cousins, and dear friends. We will miss Connie. She was a blessing to us all doing as much good for as long as she could to as many as she could.

Funeral Services were November 23, 2019 at the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon, Missouri. Burial followed the funeral service in the Woodlawn Cemetery, in Macon, Missouri.

Family suggests memorials be made to the Bethel AME Church of Macon.
