Carolyn Sue (Wooten) LaTempt, originally of Roxana/Wood River, passed away at 4:05 a.m. Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Edwardsville Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born on December 8, 1941, she was the daughter of Jerry and Ella (Frymire) Wooten, who both preceded her in death.
Carolyn was proud to serve her family and community as a Girl Scout leader for many years. She enjoyed rose-gardening, crocheting and knitting, reading a good Barbara Cartland novel, and playing BINGO. She was an amazing cook who enjoyed spending time with her family. She had been employed by Alton Multispecialists and Brakefield & Associates.
She was married to Danny E. LaTempt, who preceded her in death, and is survived by her daughters, Dana LaTempt and her husband, David Woelfel, Julie LaTempt-Brazier and her husband, Paul Brazier; son, Danny S. LaTempt; two grandsons, Joseph Babajan and Raleigh Brazier; brother, Paul Wooten and his wife, Marge;extended family, Virginia LaTempt, Virgil and Jane LaTempt, Rick LaTempt, Karen and Ron Hogue, Bob and Becky LaTempt, Debbie and Bob Davis, Steve and Nancy LaTempt.
Preceding her in death also were, sister, Wanda Ringering; extended family members, Virgil LaTempt, Terry LaTempt and Ginny LaTempt.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 8 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Angel Parish Church in Wood River. Father James Flach will officiate.
Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to the Girl Scouts of America.
