Louisa Spradling was born in Virginia, the daughter of Richard Spradling, Sr. and his wife, Elizabeth (Beaver) Spradling. She was married 26 Oct 1827, in Albemarle County, Virginia to James Wade (died 29 Oct 1842). Louisa was remarried on 1 Sep 1845 in McMinn County, Tennessee to the Reverend Hiram Brandon.

James Wade and Louisa (Spradling) Wade had the following children:
