Center of Knoxville. He was preceded in death by; parents, Newt and Emily
Wilson Mayes. Survivors include; wife, ; son, of
Concord, North Carolina; three daughters, , of Concord, North Carolina, and of Lake City; brother, Floyd Mayes
of Cleveland, Ohio; sister, of Ohio; seven
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held
Wednesday, September 20, at the Cox-Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom
Byrge officiating. Interment will follow today (Thursday), September 21 at 10
a.m. in Clinch River Cemetery, Lake City.
