Funeral. – Again a respected German citizen departs from our midst. Mr. Johann Lindemann, loved and respected by all who knew him, died from consumption on October 27th at his home, No. 132 Pearl Street, in his 57th year, and was laid to rest yesterday afternoon in Western Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Beer held a solemn funeral service at the house-in-mourning, during which the Rev. J. Hunt from the Swedenborgian Church spoke sincerely from the heart. Several members of the St. Jakobi Church, of which the deceased was a founder and president for many years, followed the coffin and escorted the deceased to his last resting place.
Mr. Lindemann was born January 11, 1818 at Burgheim, near Darmstadt, and came in 1844 to America, where he settled in Baltimore and for a long time ran a carpet business. Later he established a liquor shop which he ran until his death. He leaves a widow and five children, three sons and two daughters. – The Messrs. Johann Wolf, Johann Engel, Johann H. Schott, Wilhelm Henning, F. Schulte, Louis Meyer, Johann Ermold and Wilhelm Wambach were pallbearers at yesterday's funeral.
