Mr. Robert Mickey Rouse, 74, died Tuesday night (November 12, 2019) at his residence in Waresboro.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Ware County. Mickey graduated from Ware County High School in 1963 and was an accomplished basketball player. He was formerly employed by Guerdon Industries from 1963 until 1975. In 1975, Mickey founded Rouse’s Grocery in Waresboro which he owned and operated until recently. Being an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman, he was one of the founders of Bennett Bay Hunting Club and a member of Martin’s Landing Fishing Club.

Mickey was preceded in death by his parents, D. C. Rouse and Lindon Roberts Rouse; and one sister, Bernice Stewart (late husband Rober).

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Linda Herrin Rouse of Waresboro; two sons, Wesley Rouse (Sandra) of Maryville, TN, and Stacey Rouse (Dawn) of Waresboro; grandchildren, Joshua Rouse, Caleb Rouse, Sarah Rouse, Ryder Rouse, Ramsey Rouse and Reese Rouse; one sister, Ida Sanders (Kenneth) of Bronwood, GA; one brother, Glynn Rouse (Barbara) of Waresboro; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday (November 16, 2019) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Telmore Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
