Born January 6, 1932 in Greenville County, daughter of the late William Lenoir "Bill" Bishop, Sr. and Addie Margaret Axson Bishop; widow of Charles Lindburg Thompson.
A 1950 graduate of Brevard High School, a member of Arrowwood Baptist Church; loved singing, family and friends; loved singing from a young age with her seven brothers and later as a soloist; a wonderful homemaker and assisted Charles with his peach farm.
Loved her grandchildren who were so special to her and collected angels who she thought God had sent to watch over her. Her tremendous faith and love for the Lord brought her through much sickness through the years.
Survived by her son, David C. Thompson; daughter, Lynn Thompson King; grandchildren, Stephanie King – Witz (Sean), Savannah King Junkin (Eric), Jason King (Casey); great-grandchildren, Hannah, Payton and Savannah Junkin, Amber, Preston and Lillianna King; brothers, William Lenoir Bishop, Jr., Charles Landon Bishop, Harry H. Bishop, Arthur Bishop, Stanley T. Bishop, Dennis R. Bishop, and she loved all of her grand fur babies.
six brothers: Arthur Bishop from Largo, FL; Harry H. Bishop from Ocean Isles, SC; Stanley Thomas Bishop from Bradenton, FL; and Dennis Reid Bishop from Cedar Mountain, NC.
Also predeceased by a brother, Carl Allen Bishop (1933-2012).
The family extended thanks to Dr. Coy Eaton, Dr. James Dunn and Dr. Albert Mossburg for their care over the years. Also, to David and Becky Scruggs for their loving care over the past few years. To Mrs. Lynda Green for her assistance and care over the past few months and to Agape Hospice.
The family received friends from 10:30 - 11:45 a.m., Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Arrowwood Baptist Church.
Funeral Services followed at 12:00 p.m. in the church with Dr. Chris Gray and Rev. Daniel Godfrey officiating. Burial followed in Springhill Memorial Gardens.
