("Leamington Spa Courier" 22 Jun 1839, page 2):
A courier was despatched to the Duke and Duchess of Sutherland on Friday, with the intelligence of the alarming illness of the youthful Lady Victoria Leveson Gower, their youngest daughter. The Noble Duke and Duchess happily arrived in town in the afternoon of the following day, and we learn their infant daughter is considerably better.
We regret to learn that the infant daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Sutherland, Lady Victoria Leveson Gower, expired last evening at six o'clock, at Stafford House, after an illness of a few days. The late infant lady was born in the opening of last year, and in July was christened after the Queen, when her Majesty was most graciously pleased to stand sponsor in person.
