Evelyn was born May 13, 1932 at Pike, Oklahoma to the late Samuel Preston “Prate” Bone and Bulah Mae (McKee) Bone. She passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at Mercy Health Oklahoma City at the age of 87. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Marietta Church of Christ under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Marietta, Oklahoma. Officiating will be Bro. Tony Lalli.
Evelyn was a graduate of Courtney High School, Class of 1950. On June 11, 1954, she and Billy Jack “Pete” Wright were united in marriage at the telephone office in Wilson, Oklahoma where she was employed. He preceded her in death on January 6, 2011. Evelyn enjoyed working in her yard, sewing, painting and sharing her creations with family and friends. She always said, “my therapy is being in my yard.” Evelyn was Mom and MaMa to not only her own children and grandchildren, but also to her “kids” at church whom she has watched grow up. She and Pete became members of the Marietta Church of Christ in 1992, when they relocated to Falconhead from Decatur, Texas.
In addition to her husband and parents; she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald Bone and Don Bone.
She is survived by her daughter, Nita of Falconhead. A son, Wayland also of Falconhead, his daughter, Miranda, her fiancé David and daughter Penelope of Fort Worth, TX. A special “daughter”, Charlotte Shores of Ardmore, as well as nieces and nephews she loved dearly.
Our Mom was loved by so many people, and we were happy to share her with many close friends and family. To say she will be truly missed is such an understatement. In lieu of flowers, please donate in her memory to the Marietta Church of Christ Building Fund.
