His gravestone is listed between the gravestones of Mary Anderson and Fountain Kenney. We searched the cemetery and found the three gravestones. The inscriptions on the Anderson's and Kenney's gravestones were good, but the inscriptions on Jero's white marble gravestone was badly worn. We could only read "William"; "March", and "18".

In 1934 the inscriptions read: Fero, the faithful slave of William Lynde, died March 20, 1801, age 72 yrs. Today in 2019 you can only make out the words "William", "March", the number "18".
