She was the ninth of ten children to Margaret Rebecca Wayant and Jeremiah Sheffler (12 Dec 1844 - 15 Nov 1907). Mother to Ivan Sheffler and Marie Sheffler. Married Daniel Ira Harty (1878 - 20 Sep 1908). They had 18 children from this marriage. Among them - Raymond Harty and Nettie Kathryn Harty Helman. After Daniel's death she married Harry W. Stoops.

MRS. DAISY M. STOOPS, 86, widow of Harry W. Stoops of Rt. 2, died Friday morning at Garlock Convalescent Home in Hagerstown, where she had been a guest since last October.

She was born in Waynesboro, a daughter of Jeremiah and Rebecca Weyant Sheifler and had lived all of her life in the Waynesboro area. She was a member of Waynesboro Church of the Brethren.

She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Merle Tracy of Smithsburg, Md., Raymond Hardy of Cascade, Md., Mrs. Archie Helman, Ralph Stoops, and Mrs. Merle Sprenkle, all of Waynesboro, Barr Stoops of Chambersburg, Rt. 5, Mrs. Wayne Cluck of Gettysburg, Pa., Harry Stoops, Jr. of Waynesboro, Rt. 2, Mrs. Margaret Gonder and Mrs. Juanita Ruhl, both of Chambersburg, Mrs. Willard Widmer of Folsom, Pa., Mrs. Glenn Wagaman of Chambersburg, Rt. 8; 38 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Goldie Murray of Lancaster, Pa.

Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Grove Funeral Home in Waynesboro. The Rev. Samuel H. Flora, Jr. and the Rev. Ralph Wenger will officiate. Burial will be in Burns Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 7 to 9.
