Doug Scott Caldwell, 33, son of J. C. and Freda Caldwell, Scottie Caldwell and the late Alice Caldwell; was born Jan. 31, 1969 in Mountain View, MO, and died Feb. 21, 2002 in Thayer, MO. He was married July 15, 1995 in Thayer, MO to Tamara Massey.
He was a conductor and engineer for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. he enjoyed working on the farm and hunting and fishing.
His greatest joy was the day his son, Cody, was born. He was a devoted husband and father and was dearly loved by all his family.
He was baptized as a teenager at Green Valley Bible Camp in Rogers, AR.
Survivors include his wife, Tammy and son, Cody of the home in Thayer, MO; his parents, J. C. and Freda Caldwell of Thayer, MO; and Scottie Caldwell of Myrtle, MO; six brothers and sisters, Wesley Caldwell of Maynard, AR; Melba Croney of Troy, MO; Steve Caldwell of Merryville, TN; Sherry Smith of West Plains, MO; Stanley Caldwell of Thayer, MO; Shelly Leisenring of Heber Springs, AR; five half-brothers and sisters, Scottie Caldwell, Jr.; Rickey Caldwell; Andy Caldwell; Thelma Franks and Eugene Hurst; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Caldwell and grandparents, Roy and Grace Hurtt and Wesley Caldwell.
Services were Feb. 24, 2002 at the Mammoth Spring Church of Christ with Terry Frizzell and Ted Clarke officiating. Burial was in the Thayer Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home Inc. of Thayer.
Pallbearers were Mark Underwood, Rusty Harris, Heath Crawford, Steve Honeycutt, Rusty Mooney, and Billy Ray Madden.
Honorary pallbearers were Dewayne Grimsley, Kenny Moore, Terry Wayne Frizzell, Rodney Langley, and Timmy Hurtt.
