Merle A. Stump, 69, of 610 Caroline, a retired Caterpillar Tractor Co. employe, died Sunday at Leisure Hills Health Care Center.
He was born April 13, 1908, in Colchester, a son of John and Mary Ellen Hall Stump. He married Elizabeth Edmonds Aug. 4, 1951, in Macomb.
Surviving are his wife; a brother, Wendell Stump, Calumet City, and two sisters, Mrs. Doris Davis, Raliegh, N.C., and Mrs. Maxine Churchill, rural Macomb.
Mr. Stump, who worked for 25 years for Caterpillar, retiring in 1968, was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens.
