EARLY SETTLER'S RITES SET

RICHFIELD — Funeral services for Charles Willard Powell Sr., 85, will be conducted at 1 p. m. in the Second L. D. S. Ward Chapel, Thursday, December 21., Mr. Powell died at the home of his son, Clifford M. Powell, at Richfield, of causes incident to old age.

Mr. Powell was born on July 16, 1854, in Lancashire, England, a son of George and Maria Powell. He came to Utah in 1864 and settled with his parents at Heber. In 1865 he moved to Fountain Green and then to Glenwood in 1866, where he resided until about 16 years ago, when he moved to Richfield. At the time of his death Mr. Powell was the oldest resident of Richfield.

He had been active in ohurch and civic affairs in Glenwood and Richfield.

Surviving, besides an 88-year-old sister, Mrs. Rachel Killion of Orangeville, Utah, are four sons, Charles Willard Powell Jr., George Edward Powell and Clifford M. Powell of Richfield, and Junius F. Powell of Glenwood; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
