RICHFIELD LADY PASSES AWAY AT HOME SATURDAY Funeral for Mrs. C. P. Hansen Held Tuesday in First Ward Impressive funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in the first ward chapel for Mrs. Pearl C. Hansen, wife of C. P. Hansen who passed away Saturday afternoon at her home the illness which culminated in her death lasted only two weeks although she has had poor health for years. C. P. Black of the first ward bishopric presided at the services which opened with a selection by a quartet under direction of W. L. Castleton and composed of Misses Maurine and Mabel Ence, Mrs. H. W. Keate, J. W. Ward and Mr. Castleton. Patriarch J. I. Jensen of Elsinore offered the invocation. Two additional selections by the quartet; a vocal solo, "That Wonderful Mother Of Mine," by Mrs. Margaret Blomquist and a violin solo, 'The End Of A Perfect Day," played by Charles Engar of Salt Lake City, completed the musical numbers. Speakers were bishop H. J. Kotter of Elsinore, Bishop Andrew Oldroyd of Glenwood and Patriarch H. H. Bell of Glenwood. Mrs. Alma Ence read an original poem expressing beautifully the fine characteristics of Mrs. Hansen. The speakers too emphasized Mrs. Hansens splendid character, her ability and her patience during her years of poor health. After the benediction, pronounced by Charles Wilson, the many friends and relatives congregated followed the remains to the final resting place in the city cemetery where here Wayland Anderson of Elsinore dedicated the grave. Many beautiful floral offerings gave expression to the esteem of friends and relatives. Pearl Hansen was born at Glenwood, January 17, 1885, a daughter of Charles W. and Rozine Powell. Her marriage to C. P. Hansen took place in 1907 and he with one daughter, Madge Hansen survives. As a young girl the deceased was prominent in church activities, especially in musical functions having like her daughter Madge they made a most pleasing voice. However in later years she has been unable to participate in public activities. Surviving besides the husband and daughter are her father, Charles W. Powell of Glenwood and her brothers, C. W. Powell Jr., George and Clifford Powell all of Richfield, and Junius and Lavar K. Powell of Glenwood. Mr. Hansen and his daughter wish to express through the Reaper their appreciation of the many kindnesses extended to them during Mrs. Hansens illness and at the time of her death.
