Opal was born May 3, 1916, in Long Creek, the daughter of Arthur and Myrtle Kreig. She graduated from Decatur High School, the University of Illinois and Wayne State University. She retired from Wayne County Department of Social Services. She married Michael G. Orlovich in 1940. Surviving are her sisters, Virginia Bryson of Jacksonville, Fla.; Phyllis Egan of Oakton, Va.; Nancy Born of Cerro Gordo; brother, Raymond Kreig and wife Wanda of Galesburg; 10 nephews; seven nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother, Albert Kreig.
