He was born Oct. 31, 1913, in Wahpeton, N.D., to Abram and Gladys (Phillips) Bundy. He married Florence Schneider in January 1932 in Mankato. Al was the founder of Bundy Auto Parts, which has been in operation in Austin since June 1950.
Arvid loved to play cards, bowl in the Senior League and be with his many relatives. Arvid and Florence were longtime members of the Methodist Church in Austin.
A very humble, kind and generous man, Al was well-liked by all.
He is survived by his children, Arvilla (Hank) Bell of Burnsville, Phillip (Ann) of Austin, Alan of Buena Vista, Colo., and Dawn (Doug) Nielson of Austin; 18 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Geil Larson of Ludington, Mich.; sister-in-law, Helen Fatten of Coronado, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are his parents; Florence, his wife of 72 years; daughter, Joyce; granddaughter, Jennifer; sisters, Violet, Doris, Mildred and Verna; and a brother, Fulton.
Al's body has been donated to the University of Minnesota for medical science.
A memorial service is planned for the spring of 2012.
