He took out a Marriage License - his 1st - in January 1920 in Geneese County, Michigan along with Lucille "Lucy" Butterworth (1902–1958), but, at least in that county, it was "unused." Some time after 1958, he was married 2nd to Martha "Mattie" Holleman (1898–1976).
He was 66 years old when he passed away on June 14, 1967 in Nashville, and burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Nashville.
