Sgt. U.S. Army (Retired) AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest on Friday, June 29, 2007 at his residence, Mr. Troy Tuggle, 79, of Augusta, GA. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 28 years Magdalene Thomas Tuggle and his second wife of 22 years Barbara Kemmerlin Tuggle. Mr. Tuggle was a native of Carroll County, GA and had lived in the Augusta area since 1962. He retired from the U.S. Army as a Master Sergeant after 20 years of service during which he won many awards for having the best "Mess Hall" and he also was the favorite cook of the Colonel for many years. He then worked and retired from Kimberly-Clark after 20 years of service. Mr. Tuggle was of the Baptist faith and a licensed minister. He dedicated his life to God, family and country. He loved people and loved cooking and spending time with his family. After retiring he spent his time doing woodwork making cradles and swings for family and friends. He was a wonderful and loving "Daddy" and "PaPa" who will be greatly missed. Survivors include his daughters, Vickie T. Stonehill and her husband Malcolm of North Augusta, SC and Jackie T. Agee and her husband David of Augusta, GA; son , Dr. Steven Troy Tuggle and his wife Toni of Lexington, SC; grandchildren , Justin Troy Stonehill, Lindsay Agee, Joshua Agee, Matthew Agee, Christen Ferster and her husband Jason and Ashlyn Tuggle; one great grandchild, Wyatt Troy Ferster; brothers, Ray Tuggle and Quinton Tuggle of Bremen, GA, the late Lee Tuggle, and the late Glenn Tuggle; sisters, Frances Thurmond and Edwyna Bryan of Bremen, GA, the late Floy Jackson and the late Geneva Thompson. Funeral services will be conducted in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son, Monday, July 2, 2007, 11:00 AM with his son Rev. Steven T. Tuggle and Chaplain George Holcombe officiating. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens with military honors. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to The American Lung Assoc. 2050 Walton Way, Suite 208, Augusta, GA 30902.
