"Final tribute was paid to the late First Class Private Foster Riffenburg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Riffenberg of State road who was killed while serving with Company M in France, in July 1918, and the body was buried with full military honors.
"The church was filled with relatives and friends of the young man, and many ex-service men were in attendance. Members of the YD club and the American Legion attended in a body, Members of Oneco lodge, I.O.O.F., assisted in a service at the grave. Rev. Arthur Murray, pastor of the Episcopal church, officiated.
"After the service, the body was escorted to Southview cemetery by an armed guard of twelve men from the YD club, comrades of the deceased. The military committal service was read by the rector, after which three volleys were fired over the grave by the firing squad. Taps was sounded by Bugler Mahoney.
"The bearers were Herbert Gordon, Robert Dick, Albert Denne, Herbert Hartman, Charles McCleskey and Alfred Barber.
"The military escort was in command of Major James Tracy Potter and Lieut. James Kerr, who were in command of M Company, 104th infantry, at the time Rifenberg was killed."
