Adelaide Houston DeRosa, 82, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2013.

Mrs. DeRosa was born on Oct. 21, 1930 in Pantego, NC, the daughter of Laird and Nora Houston. She was a graduate of New Bern High School, class of 1949, and of Craven Community College.

The Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Crossroads Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at 1:00 prior to the service at the church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. DeRosa was predeceased by her husband Rudy DeRosa, son Rudy DeRosa Jr., her grandson Robert, sister Elaine Lewis, and her faithful companion, "Stray."

Her survivors include daughters, Margherita DeRosa Richardson and husband Royce, Dorothy DeRosa Ring; grandchildren Che Hooks and David, Mia Griggs, Josh Richardson and Shannon, Jennifer Spence, Jamie Johnson and Janice, Steven Ring, Kristina Ring, Anna Ring, and twelve great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Nora Houston Dixon, and several nieces and nephews.

Adelaide DeRosa was retired as a military aircraft inspector at MCAS, Cherry Point, NC. As a licensed pilot, Addie was a proud member of Petticoat Pilots and Ninety-Nine Pilots Associations. She was also previously employed as a bookkeeper and a tax consultant.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Addie's friend and service provider, Evelyn George. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association- Eastern North Carolina 3739 National Drive, Suite 110 Raleigh NC 27612
