Ruth enjoyed attending Augusta Christian Church and was an avid bridge player. She was a member of Brookside Eastern Star – Chapter 381, Tarum Court No. 14 of the Ladies Oriental Shrine and the Telephone Pioneers. She worked 40 years for Indiana Bell as an accounting supervisor.
Survivors include niece, Shirely Hoppel (Monte); nephews, Paul Hammonds (Beverly) and John Hammonds; great-nieces, Laura Hammonds, Becky Vascellaro (Sal); great-nephews, Andy Hammonds (Wendy), Brian Hoppel (Julie), and Scott Hoppel. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn Fields and Beatrice Ratcliff; one brother, Shirley Ratcliff; and one niece, Mayfra Ann Malan.
Services were entrusted to Leppert Mortuary of Indianapolis, Indiana.
