After a brief illness Robert Clinton Fonda passed away at his home, 384 1/2 Broadway, last evening at 10 o'clock. As he lived so he died — a beloved husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Grace M. and daughter, Helen L. and half-sister, Mrs. Hattie Rowland; two nieces of this village, besides nieces and nephews of Genoa, Nebraska. The funeral will be held Monday at 2 p. m. from his late residence. Interment will be made in Greenridge cemetery. Mr. Fonda had led an active life in this village. He was a former police commissioner, having been appointed a member of the board by the late Village President Charles H. Sturges, on May 1, 1896, and served for four years. He had also been in business in this village as a member of the firm of Fonda & Crawford. In latter years he had been connected with the freight office of the Delaware & Hudson company. He was a past master and former secretary of Rising Sun lodge, No. 103, F. & A. M. The Saratogian, Saratoga Springs NY, Saturday, April 26, 1913.
