A graduate of Emory University School of Theology, he served as pastor of First United Methodist Church in Tempe, Arizona for thirteen years retiring in 1989. Through his ministry he inspired and comforted many people. He took great joy in standing before his congregation on Sunday mornings delivering a sermon that was both entertaining and thought provoking, He remained active in the church and leaves behind many dear friends, He is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Adele Allen, three children, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services are scheduled for Saturday, November 6th at 3:00 pm at Tempe First United Methodist Church, Tempe.
