Evangeline Helms Walker April 24, 1942 ~ August 2, 2023 (age 81)

Evangeline "Van" Helms Walker, 81, of Blacksburg, S.C. passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at her residence.

She was married to the late Floyd Wesley Walker Jr. and daughter of the late Virgil and Estelle Harrell Helms.

Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Cheska Robbins (Chris), Leylonne Martin (Danny) and Mona Blankenship, all of Blacksburg, S.C. A son, Wesley Martin (Christy) and sister, Marie Owens of Blacksburg, S.C. 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 3 great- great grandchildren. 2 nephews, Stephen Owens (Nicole) and Dusty Floyd, a niece Stacey Floyd and a great nephew Alexander Owens.

She was predeceased also by a sister Grace Bohr, sons, David "Pete" Walker, Kenneth Walker, a daughter Lisa W. Martin and her very best friend Roger Owens.

She was a member of Broad River Baptist Church in Blacksburg, S.C., retired from Nestle's, loved reading, cooking and her family.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, August 5, 2023, from 10 - 11 a.m. at Broad River Baptist Church with a Celebration of Life Memorial Service to follow. Officiating are Rev. Tim Knotts and Rev. Danny Meetze.

Memorials may be made to the Broad River Baptist Church Building Fund, 419 W. Cherokee St. Blacksburg, S.C. 29702 or to the Cherokee Falls Baptist Church Building Fund, 109 School St., Blacksburg, S.C. 29702
