Alva Lena Wright, 95, of Jamestown, Ky died Friday, October 25, 2019 at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Jamestown.

She was born October 10, 1924 in Russell County to the late James Wesley & Dona Stephens McGowan.

She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Hope Separate Baptist Church.

Survived by 6 children: Zula (Paul) Coomer, Berea, Ky
Judy (Don) Smith, Jamestown
Rita Smith, Columbia
Cathie Rogers, Jamestown
Alva Smith (Don Phelps) Russell Springs
James Smith, Louisville

1 sister: Zella Wilson

2 brothers: Leonard McGowan, Leon McGowan

2 step children: Jewell Hogan & Charlie Wright along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Leamer "Bud" Smith and Ensley Wright, Sr.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia Gaye Goodin, 3 infant children; stepchildren Ensley Wright, Jr. and Alene Ashbrook; grandchildren; Jimmy Coomer, Angela York, Shawn Wilhite: son-in-law, Vick Rogers.

Preceded in death by 14 brothers & sisters

Funeral service for Alva Lena Wright will be 1 PM. Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bobby Conner, Bro. David Coffey, and Bro. Randy Brown.

Visitation 10 AM to 1 PM. Wednesday.

Interment in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Sunshine.

Pallbearers: Don Smith, Don Phelps, Billy Shad Smith, Lee McQueary, Tony York, Chris York

Honorary Pallbearers: Paul Coomer, Timmy Ballou, Bryan Ballou, Jason Grant
