HARRY GREWE Peacefully, Harry passed into the presence of his Lord on Monday, August 19, 2002, following a courageous battle with cancer. Harry was Ruths dearly beloved husband of 35 years, dear father of Ted (Carolyn), Tammy (Jason) Daase, Leslie (Ron) Joyal; and fun-loving grandpa of Adam and Ashley. Harry will be greatly missed by his seven brothers and sisters in Germany, their spouses, and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his special cousins, Robert and Marlis Tepper. Ruths family loved him dearly and will miss his companionship and the energy and fun he brought to family gatherings. Grandma Sherba will especially miss his kindness and caregiving. Harry was born on December 7, 1943 in Lasy, Poland. His family relocated to Germany and Harry immigrated to Canada in 1964. He was a skilled painter and decorator, acquiring his trade from Germany. His love and specialty was creating beautiful finishes on custom woodwork. His work ethic was of the highest standard; customer service and satisfaction were his priority. He pursued his dream of farming in East Selkirk from 1975 to 1989. Harry lived life intensely. He invested himself in his family, his work and his faith. He believed in his children and encouraged them with "you can do it". He was very proud of their accomplishments. He thought the world of his daughter-in-law Carolyn and his sons-in-law, Ron and Jason. He taught us the meaning of selflessness, stamina, perseverance and excellence. He had a passion for fishing and spent some of his happiest days fishing with Ted and Adam and his fishing buddies. He was constantly awed by Gods creation in the beauty of our Manitoba lakes. His walk with God was quiet and steadfast. Our heartfelt thanks to all of you who held us closely during this difficult time; you know who you are. May God grant you His blessings for your love and care. Our deepest appreciation to Dr. Michael West, Dr. Keith Jones and the HSC Brain Tumour Clinic staff; family friend and physician Dr. Philippe Erhard, Dr. Janice Mulder, and the Riverview staff on 3E. We were touched by your compassion and loving attention to Harry and our family. A service of gratitude for Harrys life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 22 at Calvary Temple, 400 Hargrave St., Winnipeg. Those wishing to do so may make a donation in Harrys memory to the Children Feeding Program, in care of Calvary Temple, 400 Hargrave St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 3A8. "I have fought a good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith. There is now waiting for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the Righteous Judge shall give, but not to me only, but to all who love His appearing." II Tim. 4:7,8 LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements. 775-2220.
