Mr. Lu proudly served in the United States Navy and retired after twenty-three years as Chief Petty Officer, serving both in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He served on the USS Bremerton in communications and electronics, the USS Bon Homme Richard in medical research, the USS Edmonds, USS Hector, and the USS John S. McCain. He received numerous awards and commendations for his service. Mr. Lu was an active member of the local VFW and the American Legion. He was adamant about helping veterans. He had a kind heart and would help both people and animals.
Mr. Lu is survived by his son, Gary Lee Luzader of Hawaii; daughter, Sonia Marie Luzader of Little Rock, Arkansas; close family friends, Mike and Debbie Ross and their granddaughter, Katie Fox; as well as many veterans whom he considered family.
